About Blogger: Microbiology Blog for Students
Last updated on Sunday, July 7, 2024
Welcome to the "Microbiology Blog for Students"! I am grateful for your visit and interest in this blog, hosted at www.mblogstu.blogspot.com. As an aspiring investigator and evolving researcher, I am excited to share insights and discoveries in the field of microbiology.
In my journey as a researcher, I have had the privilege to co-author two significant publications. The first, published in 2022, can be accessed here. This study explores a point mutation in the gyrA gene, specifically at serine 83, which grants the organism resistance to fluoroquinolone antibiotics. It also highlights the decreased susceptibility of these antibiotics against Salmonella serovars responsible for enteric fever.
The second publication, released in 2023, is available here. This paper discusses the transmission of SARS-CoV-2 via patient viral shedding and the innovative use of wastewater-based epidemiology to track the virus in the general population. Additionally, it emphasizes the critical role of disinfectants in managing and preventing the spread of SARS-CoV-2 within communities.
Since starting this blog in 2016, my aim has been to provide valuable insights into the world of microbiology. The importance of microbiology in our global community is undeniable, given its countless contributions to the biological sciences. This blog serves as a personal platform to explore and discuss various aspects of microbiology, fostering a deeper understanding of the field.
